Jarod has been a classroom teacher for nearly 20 years, and currently teaches in the undergraduate and graduate creative writing programs at University of South Florida. Jarod holds an MFA in Creative Writing and a PhD in Curriculum & Instruction, with an emphasis in Language and Literacy Studies, from The Pennsylvania State University.

As a literacies researcher, he’s worked with children from 3 years old all the way through high school, and taught both one-shot and ongoing comics and creative writing classes for early childhood, elementary, middle school, high school, and college.
